Photos Taken in Santo Stefano di Sessanio

Hi Everybody,

I wanted to share some photos from the event in Santo Stefano di Sessanio, May 18th. Gorgeous photos taken by Peter Austin, who came all the way from the UK with his lovely wife.

Peter was the winner of a copy of my cookbook, a photography contest that was run by good friend Sammy Dunham.

Mamma’s Ribs!

mommy's ribs

I was at my mother’s over the weekend. One of my favorites is when she slow cooks ribs in her homemade tomatoe sauce!

A great way to cook ribs and enjoy with a hearty dish of of your favorite pasta. It’s perfect with a glass of red wine….here’s a toast to ‘mamma mia’ !

You can also find this recipe in my book!

Sextantio Albergo Diffuso

Hi Everybody,

I wanted to share a video of Sextantio Albergo Diffuso, in Santo Stefano di Sessanio. Owner, Daniele Kihlgren and I share the passion of authenticity! I want to spread the word to everybody about the magical medieval experience last weekend when I shared my book “Breaking Bread in L’Aquila” in Santo Stefano di Sessanio on Saturday, May 18th.

Special thanks to the staff that runs Sextantio – never have I been surrounded by a group who are passionate about culture, home life and authenticity of keeping culinary tradition today!

Someone referred Sextantio Albergo Diffuso as a must do on one’s Bucket List. I agree ….. you won’t be disappointed! The perfect Cinderella experience for my European/Italy book launch!

I look forward to coming back for more! Complimenti !

Panini! Panini!

paniniheaven1

This was taken at my favorite panini bar in L’Aquila. These are the best panini and well worth the trip! Simple and delicious: proscuitto, fresh creamy mozzarella, and perfectly ripe tomatoes. My friends agreed that these were the best they had!

Simplicity at its best ! Try it….you’ll like it!
